A R C H I - L O G SHLM & INFOKA Most recent update ARCHI-LOG(dos)

Users of the DOS version of ARCHI-LOG who have paid for an annual service contract offered by INFOKA can download the most recent update from this page.

Click on the transfer link with the left-hand button of your mouse and choose the Save option
and then save the update file in the \SHLM-AR folder, on your application server or on the C: disk of your workstation if you do not use a network. (The note files should be saved to the \SHLM-AR\NOTES folder.)

Installation instructions:

• First create a folder named C:\SHLM-AR-BACKUP on your workstation, if it does not exist already;
  
  

• Create a sub-folder C:\SHLM-AR-BACKUP\yyyymmdd where yyyy is the value of the year, mm the value of the month and dd the value of the day when you make this installation (for example: C:\SHLM-AR-BACKUP\20040818);
  
  

• Make sure ARCHI-LOG is not being run by another user;
  
  

• Make a complete backup copy of the X:\SHLM-AR folder, on your server, to the C:\SHLM-AR-BACKUP\yyyymmdd folder that you have previously created; use Windows Explorer for this purpose. This will give you the possibility of recovering the old content if something goes wrong;
  
  

• Copy the downloaded update file to the X:\SHLM-AR folder, on your network server, unless it has already been done at downloading time;
  
  

• Use one of the following options to unzip the downloaded update file;
  
  

  • Use the WINZIP program or an equivalent one to unzip the content of the downloaded file in the X:\SHLM-AR folder, on your server; do not forget to use the password that we will have sent to you;
    
    OR
    
    

  • Open a MS-DOS window to execute the following four instructions:
    

    x:
    cd \shlm-ar
    pkunzip -sxxxxxx ARCHyyy.zip
    exit
    

    Comments about the above instructions :
    Press the [Enter] key at the end of each line;
    Replace x: by the letter used to identify your server hard disk or by C: if the ARCHI-LOG software is completely installed on your workstation;
    Replace xxxxxx with the password sent to you;
    Replace archyyy.zip with the name of the downloaded file;
    Answer y or a when the PKUNZIP program asks you if you wish to overwrite the previous version of each module.
    
    

• Start ARCHI-LOG and let it automatically update its files, if this is required;
  
  

• Verify the version number appearing at the bottom of the main menu screen of ARCHI-LOG. This number should be identical to the current version shown at the top of the page.

Installation instructions specific to the notes:

• Copy the downloaded notes file to the X:\SHLM-AR\NOTES folder, on your network server, unless it has already been done at downloading time;
  
  

• Use one of the following options to unzip the downloaded notes file;
  
  

  • Use the WINZIP program or an equivalent one to unzip the content of the notes file in the X:\SHLM-AR\NOTES folder, on your server; this file is not password-protected;
    
    OR
    
    

  • Open a MS-DOS window to execute the following four instructions:
    

    x:
    cd \shlm-ar\notes
    pkunzip NOTESyyy.zip
    exit
    

    Comments about the above instructions :
    Press the [Enter] key at the end of each line;
    Replace notesyyy.zip by the name of the downloaded notes file;
    Answer y or a when the PKUNZIP program asks you if you wish to overwrite the previous version of each notes file;
    Repeat this process for each notes file that you will have downloaded.
    
    

• The notes will then be available for browsing by choosing the UTILITIES module in the main menu, and then choosing VIEW NOTES DESCRIBING EACH UPDATE.
