The internaut will also be able to browse the PDF version of the magazine or a flip-page version.
  • A tool is available to create the table of content from bookmarks in the PDF file.

This function will eventually be available as an optional module. If such a function might be interesting for you, please send your requirements.

Previous version 2.08.10c
greatly improves image processing. A tool lets you process every image of the photo album in order to compress it, add a watermark and sent it to your web site. The compressed version of your images is put into a distinct folder X:\pagew3\your_site_ID\images_br\ such that your original images are not modified.

You can now delete a record from the photo album without having to first delete all its links with your descriptions or your objects. ARCHI-LOG will count all the links with this record and show you how many there are, after which it will ask you to confirm the deletion of the record and all of its links.

The COUNT function inside the photo album will tell you how many images ARCHI-LOG could find as well as the number of images that could not be found.

A new parameter in IKAPP00.ini «installation folder=%server%:\archilog» lets you explicitely specify the folder where the installation program will copy the new version of ARCHI-LOG. At some clients, the installation program could not access the ARCHI-LOG folder if it was located on a network disk (i.e. R:\archilog). In this particular case, the new parameter lets you specify the complete path where to copy the new version (i.e. «installation folder=\\pc1\share\archilog» ). In this case, it is preferable to not let the program open automatically ARCHI-LOG at the end of the installation as this would result in an error. Just use the shortcut on your desktop to open ARCHI-LOG as you normally do.

Many improvements were also made into the religious personel module, including the capacity of choosing to print a list of all the houses (work places) or simply print the detailled description of a single house. Image processing was also improved.

Previous version 2.08.08x
embodied a number of improvements which have been done in all modules of ARCHI-LOG, particularly in the physical description management section. The tool for verifying the integrity of links using the unit number can now correct by itself some anomalies that have no consequence on your data. A detailled report can be printed.

A new menu using tiles like in Windows 8 has made its apparition. You can get it from the Display the introductory short-cut menu function under the main menu bar Options item. You will find there other options for changing the background color of ARCHI-LOG's screen. The structure of this new menu is similar to the old one but it provides for more buttons (tiles). A small dashbord will show you condensed information about your data. We think you will like this new menu.

A mechanism for automatically verifying the existence of a new update will warn you at the first execution of the program, every day.

The Photo album module now also lets you integrate images from the Artefacts module. Integration of images is now easier and can be done both from the archival description fields or from the photo album itself. The photo album also provides for four image reduction profiles, in order to cover all your needs.

A storage location module will let you create the structure of you depot into the ARCHI-LOG database. You will then be able to associate a box number to each of your storage locations, which will greatly facilitate location transfers if you need to. You will also be able to get many detailed reports showing the use of your depot and the content of your inventory. A tool will let you visualize occupied areas as well as available ones, giving you a very useful overview of your storage space.

Our collection management module, called ARTE-LOG, has now attained its maturity. It meet all the requirements of Artefacts Canada and Info-Muse. It has its own search module and it includes a transfer module for sending your objects descriptions to Artefacts Canada or Info-Muse national databases in addition to its own transfer tool to the search portal that we have built. There is also a tool for following-up all transfers.

Our document management module, called DOCU-LOG, grows progressively. You can now build your own classification plan as well as your conservation calendar and do an inventory of your files and active documents.

Three search portals are now available for users of ARCHI-LOG : the search portal for archives, the search portal for the photo album and the one for your artefacts collection in the ARTE-LOG module. Users of our BIBLIO-TEK software can also benefit from its own search portal. All these tools considerably increase your capacity to disseminate your archival or museum descriptions, through the internet.

Also, a great number of the recent improvements to ARCHI-LOG resulted from your demands and your suggestions. The list of modifications made since version 2.08.06 (Feb. 2014) is not ready yet but will be available in a future update.

Versions 2.07.03 and following
integrate a new tool for viewing images. If you have one or more work-stations operating ARCHI-LOG from another computer than this one, then you will also need to install the work-station upgrade v2.07p on each of these workstations as well.

Furthermore, this new version can now automatically update the search dictionary when you add or modify a record in the Describe fonds and collections form. This means that you will not need to use the [Update dictionary] button unless you import data from the [Import] button.

Since version 2.05.03
, ARCHI-LOG uses a new method for updating itself.
You will find under the [Utilities] item of the main menu a new option [Check for the availability of an upgrade] that uses an existing internet connection to verify the existence of an upgrade for ARCHI-LOG on our web site : www.infoka.com/archilog/en. If such an upgrade is available and if you are entitled to it, ARCHI-LOG will proceed by itself to download this upgrade and install it. It will not be necessary for you to visit this page any more in order to get an upgrade.

Important : Please note that we still strongly recommend that you continue to make a backup copy of the ARCHI-LOG program and data before starting the upgrade process.

If you do not have access to our web site from the station from which you are executing the ARCHI-LOG program, you can still access this page to get an upgrade. In this case, you will need to save the upgrade file when you click on the upgrade link on this page. Save the file on your desktop or in any other folder of your choice. Transfer this file to the station that hosts the ARCHI-LOG application and double-click on it to start the upgrade process.
